Osu!

 

Many people start karate thinking only that they want to get their black belt. But without putting effort towards first getting blue, yellow and all the other belts before it, you can't ever reach that goal.

 

This is true in life as it is in karate.

 

Everybody has a dream. It's not wrong to have a big dream but it's important to set smaller goals because you can't reach your dream in one shot. Putting effort towards the smaller steps is not always an easy thing. It can be tedious and there can be hard times along the way but you have to always try your best and overcome those obstacles. Then you can reach your goal.

 

I brushed this picture as a reminder of this message. It says:

 

Tenteki ishi womo ugatsu.
— A drop of water repeated over time can make a hole in a rock.

 

Doryoku ni masaru, tensai wa nashi.
— Even a person who is called genius can't be a genius without effort.
